How to copy a YouTube link — phone and PC
To request a song on the Jukebox you need the link to a YouTube video. It is easy, but at first it is not obvious where to copy it. Here is the quickest way on each device.
In the YouTube phone app
Open the video, or pick it from a list. Tap Share under the video, then choose Copy link in the share sheet. That is all.
The three-dot menu next to a song in a list also has Share, so you can copy without opening the video. Then go back to the Jukebox and paste into the input box.
If switching apps is tedious, the steadiest rhythm is one song at a time: copy in YouTube, paste in the Jukebox, back to YouTube.
In a phone browser
If you are watching YouTube in Chrome or Safari, tap the address bar, select the whole address and copy it. Video addresses usually start with youtube.com/watch.
Choosing Share in the browser menu and then copying the link gives the same result.
On a PC
With the video page open, select the whole address bar (Ctrl+A) and copy (Ctrl+C). On a Mac use the Command key.
Or click Share → Copy under the video, which copies a short address starting with youtu.be. The Jukebox recognizes both the same way.
To request a single song from a playlist page, open that song’s own video page first and copy from there. A playlist address may not be treated as a single song.
When pasting does not work
Check that nothing else is mixed in before or after the address. Copying from a chat app sometimes brings a sentence along. Keep only the address.
Make sure it is a YouTube video address. A channel address or a search-results address cannot be used as a song.
If the song is added but gets skipped instead of playing, that video may block external playback. Try another upload of the same song, such as an official audio or lyric video.
Going over 6 songs per minute temporarily blocks requests. Wait a moment and add it again.
Copied a link? Paste it into a room. Creating a room needs no sign-in.
