Jukebox FAQ
The questions first-time users ask most often. Answers are short, but where the reason matters, we give the reason.
Do I need to sign in or sign up?
Guests do not. With the room link they can paste a YouTube link and request right away. For the host, signing in is optional; doing so keeps the room longer and lets the host continue from another device.
How many songs can I add?
Up to 6 songs per minute per person, and up to 300 songs in a room’s queue. The limits exist so that one person cannot fill the queue.
If the queue is full, request again after a few songs have played.
Can I remove my song? Who can reorder?
You can remove only the songs you added, and the host can remove any song. Anyone can reorder the queue.
If you worry about order when anyone can reorder, set a password on the room so strangers cannot join.
The music does not play or stops midway
First check the host’s player screen. If the browser blocked autoplay, tap the screen once. If the screen turned off or the app changed, YouTube stops, so keep the player device’s screen on.
If only certain songs get skipped, those videos block external playback. Try requesting another upload of the same song.
Are there ads? Is it paid?
The Jukebox is free and asks for no payment method. The site is supported by ads. Ads between YouTube videos come from YouTube, and are reduced if the playing device is signed in to YouTube Premium.
Can I play it in a shop or café?
Playing music in a commercial space requires you to check performance and copyright licensing separately. The Jukebox is only a tool that plays YouTube videos from a queue; it does not clear commercial rights for you. Check the rules of the relevant rights organization before use.
How long is room information kept?
Rooms without sign-in are deleted 30 days after last use; rooms whose host signed in with Google stay one year after last use. We do not receive your name or email at sign-in, and store only a hash of the account number. See the Privacy Policy for details.
If that answered your questions, create a room. It works without signing in.
